Tips for Storing your Shrimp
1. Keep shrimp frozen until ready to use.
Shrimp frozen in an ice block stay freshest when kept at 0°F or below.
2. Store the shrimp in the coldest part of your freezer.
Back corner > freezer door.
Opening the door less = better quality.
3. Keep shrimp in the original ice block.
The ice protects the shrimp from freezer burn, oxidation and texture loss.
Once the ice block is broken, try to use the shrimp within 2–3 months.
4. Long-Term Storage Timeline
- Best quality: 6–9 months
- Still excellent: up to 12 months
- Max: 12–14 months (if kept consistently frozen)
5. For small freezers:
If you need to repackage them, move them into:
- vacuum-sealed bags OR
- a Ziplock filled with cold water (refrozen into a smaller ice block)
6. Always label the bag:
✓ Date frozen
✓ Size (M/L/Jumbo)
✓ Weight
